Kissimmee Battle Road

The night before the tournament we were attempting to find the cards that we needed for our decks

Okay so going to the tournament we had to meet at the same gas station we always do when we take our friends with us. So we get there and then we get them and we leave for the tournament in Kissimmee. On the way there I reach into my bag to get out the sleeves I brought with me so I could resleeve. I open them and realize that I had used the sleeves before. So I had to buy some at the card shop it was being held in.
I turned in my decklist and then sit down and resleeve. Since we didn’t have the cards for my dad’s deck we had to ask around and finally got them. So he could play after all.

Round 1
So of course I get a bad start. What a nice way to start off the tournament lol.  So by turn 2 he had out a RR Leafeon. I had nothing so he started knocking out my pokemon. I had to rely on drawing cards for the turn and finally I got stuff I needed. Then I got a full bench and also a Jumpluff. I knocked out the Leafeon and he only had one other pokemon which I could 1 shot. So of course he puts down another basic. He did this 2 or three times and then I knocked them all out and won.

Round 2
Speed Machamp. Trainer heavy and without trainers it goes really slow. So I don’t have a Spiritomb and then he uses a few trainers and gets out a machamp. He gets an energy on it and knocks out whatever it was that was active. So I send out a Jumpluff and attack him. I kill his and eventually somehow we both end up having no energy and can’t do anything. So I then finally  get an energy and beat him.

Round 3
So we got back from lunch and then the pairings went up.  So of course I end up playing Grafton Roll. Not much I could have done that game. I started with a Sunkern which as we all know is the best card in the world to start with. So I go first. I draw and end my turn. He starts does 2 setup then a couple communication drops a bts and gets a Nidoqueen. He attaches a Rainbow energy and mega punch for game.

Round 4
So it is the last round that we play before top 2. I start with garbage and kind of recover. Not really because I keep drawing crap and worthless supporters like palmers. I got out a Jumpluff or 2 but I started out so bad I had no hope. So I lost.

For the day I went 2-2 which isn’t bad but isn’t very good. I made fifth and my brother made 4th giving him 2 packs. He also went 2-2. Overall it was a pretty good day and we all had fun. My dad played the same deck I did and played  4 fire decks out of 6 rounds. Still it was fun and the first tournament of the year that we went to.

Finally!! My Worlds Report

Okay as you know the only reason that I got to this tournament is because you guys helped me out. Otherwise I would not have made it so thanks a million. Really I just can not thank everyone enough!

HI LAva

Hawaii is not as green as you think, at least Kona is not.

So we got up that morning and left to go to the hotel for the tournament really early. The road was pretty straight and it took us about an hour to get to the Hilton Resort. Once we got there I did early registration and since we were about an hour and a half early we found some of our friends and started talking to them.

Then the opening ceremonies started and we went into the main room. The video that they showed was so loud that it made the room rumble and many people cover their ears. So after that the rosters were up and then the pairings. So here is what it was like:

Round 1:  Cursegar

Pokemon

This is a view from the floor where the Juniors played. You can't really tell, but it was in a pit. I did not like how we were split up when we played. My dad said it reminded him of a Vegas lounge act.

I got a bad hand and the thing that saved me was that I had a Luxray X and I brought up the kid’s Claydols and the fact that I got 4 heads with Super Scoop Up helped a ton. Eventually after stalling I recovered and he had a Gengar on his bench and it had an expert belt and 2 energies on it and since it was a Cursegar killing the thing would hurt a lot. So I did a Bright Look and brought up the Gengar, did a poke turn and then sent up a Jumpluff and killed it. Then I won the game because he couldn’t stop the one shots.

Round 2: Blazeray
Not much to say really because I got beat so fast but basically I started with a Luxray GL and a Roserade GL and could only draw Super Scoop Ups or Poke Turn. He won with a Uxie Lv.X.

Round 3: Gengar C
This game I started with garbage and my opponent did not which sucked for me but he only got out a Garchomp C Lv.X to start with so I could  have a little bit of time for recovery and I did recover. I almost beat the kid when I recovered but he got out some more basics and tried to stall for time but everything that he had out I could kill in one hit.

Round 4: Luxchomp
It was kind of funny that out of all the kids there that I had to play the kid I beat in top 16 at Nationals. This time he killed 2 of my belted Pokémon and I didn’t even take a prize card. My Prizes were 2 Skiplooms, an Uxie, a Pokedex, a Night Maintenance, and a Luxray GL. If I could have drawn a Night Maintenance or a Rare Candy I might have been able to at least make it a game, but I was pretty far behind on prizes so. So I lost that game. That is the kind of game that I hate to lose because if I could’ve drawn anything I might have been able to at least do something. Like on time at a tournament (Titusville
City) I was playing a Gyrados and 2 Magikarps and my Azelf were prized. There was nothing I could’ve done.

Cold!

By the end of the 4th round the place was freezing. So between rounds I sat on a hot rock to warm up.

Round 5: Donphan
I almost killed his Phanpy on my first turn but I was 10 short. So he got out a Donphan and had an extremely light bench and Jumpluff needs the opponent to have a heavy bench but didn’t happen this game. So I had to last as long as I could and had to hit for about 60 every time and that made it take a long time to KO his Donphans . Eventually I managed to win but it was a pain.

Round 6: Luxchomp
I started with an okay hand but it nothing great. I don’t know how good the girls hand was but it seemed decent. I killed her Ambipom G with my Roserade GL on the second turn. Eventually I got setup and had to make sure that she didn’t get out a Luxray to bright look my belted Jumpluff out and kill it with the Entei Raiou legend on her bench.  In the end I had to KO her Entei Raikou Legend twice which is how I won the game.

Round 7: Luxpluff/mirror match
I went first and the kid got out a Jumpluff out on his first turn. I got out a Jumpluff also and killed his Jumpluff. We exchanged prizes for a while and eventually I won by taking too many prize cards too fast and by the time he recovered I had pretty much won the game.

Worlds

17th....

For the day I went 5-2 and they said that they were going to have top 32. It turns out they had top 16. I made 17th which is great at least I got there had a winning record and got a lot of stuff for top 32. It was a surprise that I made it there at all. Overall it was a good trip but the tournament was like a big states and half of the time they didn’t tell you when the rounds started but still at least I made it. I couldn’t have made it without you guys.

Going!

I would like to thank everybody for their generosity and for sponsoring me. Right now I am at the airport waiting for my flight. Without everybodys help I would not have made it to Hawaii.

I did not want to do it this way but it worked so… I will be writing updates on how I’m doing at the tournament also.

It doesn’t really matter if I win or lose I got there but I don’t know how I’ll do but at least keep the spirit of the game.

I would like to thank my brother Tristan for his sacrafice and without it I wouldn’t have been able to make it.

Lastly I would like to thank Tampa International Airport (TIA) for being so nice and actually having free WiFi unlike the other airports we will be going to.

Thanks everybody!

Another Day

Really sorry for not posting I’ve been a little behind on my schoolwork because I started early. So I’m about halfway to the goal which is pretty cool but still need that other half.

The other day I had to get a physical for scout camp and the person who did it found that I had an irregular heartbeat. So on Tuesday I had to go to a cardiologist and I had to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours and gave it back to them yesterday.

Having that thing on was so itchy because they taped it to me and I couldn’t take a shower or anything.

Anyway sorry about that.

Finally Getting Somewhere

Sorry for not posting anything this week. Been a little bit busy lately sending out hundreds and hundreds of emails this week.

Not really a whole lot of fun but whatever works. This morning I checked the site and found that I had gotten a lot more money and was extremely surprised to find I had gotten so much. I guess that all those emails paid off after all.

If I don’t make enough money this coming up week then I can’t go. But at this rate I might make it. Really appreciate the people who have helped me out so far. Thanks!

Fail Blog

Yeah sorry for not posting this week but I’ve sent out so many emails and stuff that I’ve been too busy to write anything. I have sent out hundreds Box of Failof emails and got one reply saying can’t help you.

Really sucks because it took me a long time to send all those out. Also calling places and getting nothing goes along with asking places and getting nothing. I’m going to continue doing stuff even after this years worlds even if I don’t make enough money to get there.

Thanks to all the people who have helped out so far!

Friday working

I meant to post yesterday, but was too busy trying to get some sponsors from local places. No luck.

Also my older brother left for camp and we had to run around for that.

I also sent out more emails than I can count to local places. I got a few replies, the majority were negative. Though 2 were positive that they would see if they could help.

Tomorrow we have a league we go to, I am going to ask the shop if they will sponsor me, there is another shop just down the road we will go to as well.

The league that my dad runs meets in the library, so obviously that is not helpful.

I got a letter from my old school’s principal, I got a perfect score on the FCAT Reading portion, which is nice.

This school year I am doing Florida Virtual school, regretfully I started early and have been doing assignments as well this week. Not sure why, but my teacher has been making submit multiple assignments every day.

Thanks again everyone for your support!

Thank You!

I would like to thank Adam for putting me on the front page of Sixprizes.com and for doing the interview. I would also like to thank the people that sponsored me and thank the people that put comments that were positive.

I would also like to thank the people that have sponsored me so far.

Thanks for all the people that have spread the word also. So far I have gotten $275 which is not too bad! We also have quite a few that said they would help but have not yet.

I appreciate all the sponsors and the people that have helped.

Calling local radio stations

It sucked calling the radio stations this morning because they said to email them.

They also were kind of jerks on the phone. I didn’t exactly enjoy getting rejected either.

After calling them I was kind of mad so I went and started playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii. I was playing the cpu and got a little bored thrashing it every game so I am writing letters, at least if they throw my letter in the garbage I won’t be there.

I think that the radio stations could’ve been a little bit nicer at least. They didn’t even let me finish what I was going to say.  I get it, I am 11, no reason to be rude to me.
